Yes, the nights are drawing in, yes, the wind seems to have completely disappeared, yes, the 2007 Youth Week seems ages ago and yes, the 2008 Youth Week seems a very long way away, but rest assured work is continuing afoot for next year’s Youth Week.

So, firstly the committee would like to thank all sailors and volunteers for their enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in at this year’s very successful event.

The volunteers party was (unfortunately) postponed due to England playing South Africa – the money for the party is still in the pot so the word is definitely postponed, not cancelled. The date will now be in the New Year so this might encourage some of you to volunteer a bit earlier, then again…

We have enclosed a photo taken at Water Wars , if you can’t see your face then perhaps next year when you are asked to smile at the camera you might pay a bit more attention!

The photos taken by David Harding are still available on his website which is sailingscenes.co.uk . Some of these pictures will make perfect Christmas presents to a loving Grandparent and some might just cause a bit of amusement. There a few images of worried faces as boats nearly capsize, oops and then do capsize.

Most importantly and get it in your diaries NOW … the dates are 26 th July – 1 st August 2008 .

We are limiting the week to 200 sailors so please ensure that you get your entry in as soon as you can. We envisage entry forms being available online by April 1 st 2008. If you would like them emailed to you then please let us know using the contact form on this web site..

e are looking for suggestions for the themed party , so what do you want to see your parents dress up as in front of 100’s of people. We will be having spot prizes next year so get planning now.
